Welcome!

Welcome to the Equality New Mexico Blog!

I want to welcome you all to our new BLOG as a way to keep you informed of our current activities, upcoming events, and legislative updates.

I want to begin by sharing upcoming events we are working to organize. Please see the sidebar on the right for more details about these events.

We have a Faith Communities Gathering to discuss moving lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender civil rights forward in New Mexico. This gathering is to build on the work of the Religious Alliance for Inclusion and Non-Discrimination (R.A.I.N). The faith community has been a vocal part of the national debate over equal rights for persons who are LGBT. Please join us to hear stories from community members and faith leaders as we continue to advocate for LGBT civil rights.

We are also producing the premier of The Laramie Project: 10 years later with Working Classroom. Please Save the Date of Monday October 12, 2009 for this national premier. If you want more information, please visit: Tectonic Theatre Project's Online Community - click here.

We are working to have a showing of DO TELL at the Guild Cinema in the Fall of 2009. DO TELL offers space for LGBTQ and women of color veterans of the U.S. military to share their experiences of militarism through the production of digital story. In the face of the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy and enduring occupations overseas, it's more important than ever that these women's stories are given airtime and visibility. For more information please click here!

We are constantly working on our Bullying Prevention Project and continue to be active in the New Mexico Bullying Prevention Coalition. We are also charged with our Relationship Recognition initiatives and moving Marriage Equality forward in New Mexico.

All above projects happen with your financial support. We would appreciate you making a donation today as well as letting your friends and family know about EQNM.
