We will be continuing our collaboration with Working Classroom for Dia de los Muertos. It has been an incredible honor to work with this organization.

The day at the State Fair for Equality New Mexico was great. I spent the morning and afternoon welcoming people to the LGBTQ community booth. There were people thrilled we were there. A few people sat and talked with me about life in New Mexico as a gay person. There is something incredibly rewarding about having people share their stories with you. My favorite visitor was this young boy about 8 or 9 who shared his excitement about walking in the gay parade this year. In the evening, one of our volunteers brought a guitar and all those working the booth sang the night away. It attracted many people to the booth where they were able to interact with many people. I have a goal for next year to have a gay day at the State Fair. What do you think? Thank you to all the volunteers who dedicated their Friday evening to the State Fair for EQNM.

Check out the booth if you are going to the fair.

We will also be on main-street on Friday September 25th for Women’s Day at the Fair.

I also presented at the Safe Zone training for Albuquerque Public Schools on Thursday September 17. It was wonderful to be in a room full of teachers and social workers talking about EQNM and the work we do throughout the state. The people in this room are doing some incredible work with young people and I am excited to be working closely with them.

We hope to see you at the Town Hall for the March on Washington. Meet the New Mexico delegation. Voice your stories, joys and concerns about the LGBTQ community. We’ll take your voice to DC. Buy raffle tickets to help fundraise for roundtrip transportation. For more information glance under our events section.

I will be in touch soon!

Onward...
